Ask the cards a real question. Get an answer you can use tonight.

What this is, and what it is not
It is not a prediction. Nobody can tell you what will happen, and a reading that claims to is selling comfort rather than clarity.
What it is: the situation you are standing in, named plainly, by something that is not you and not the person you have been asking. That distance is the whole point. You already know most of this — you need it said back in a voice that is not your own.
Written inside Rachel Pollack’s Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom — the card is an image before it is a meaning, and a reading describes a situation instead of predicting an event.
How it works
Three steps, and you keep the cards
- 01
Say what it is really about
Not "what does my future hold". Six directions, then the sentence you have not said out loud — plus what you are afraid of, if you will name it.
- 02
Pull your own cards
The deck is shuffled and fanned face down. You reach in and take the ones your hand goes to. Nobody assigns your cards here.
- 03
Read, then argue with it
Three cards read in their positions, what the spread is made of, and three things to do this week. Then ask about the parts you disagree with.
What the spread is made of
Every reading shows its working
Before reading a single card, a reader looks at what the spread is made of — which elements, which suits, what is missing. Most sites skip this, because their reading was written before you arrived. The numbers below come from the cards on the left, counted by the same code that writes every reading here.
Earth dominates: this is grounded, practical and slow. Nothing here moves faster than the work does.
I have had readings that felt like a performance. This one told me the thing I already knew and had been avoiding for four months.
